- General ►Our policies,
procedures, and sales terms are subject to change without notice,
so please check back on this website for any updates or you may
E-mail us regarding any last minute changes (if any).
- Guarantee ►F BAR
Longhorns warrants that our Longhorns are as advertised and represented
(subject to inadvertent typographical errors); and, are free of
any diseases or medical problems known to us. However, we do not
warrant that any particular Longhorn to be fit for any particular
purpose, activity, or use, since every buyer has their own program.
In the event that an animal you contracted for becomes seriously
ill, injured, or dies prior to your taking delivery, we will either
(a) refund all monies paid by you; or, (b) you may apply those monies
paid to purchase another one of our animals that we have for sale.
- Prices / Our Right of Withdrawal
► Most of our cattle are for sale, however, for
the sake of our breeding program goals, foundation animals may be
unavailable for purchase due to the integral part they might play
in that effort. In some cases, we may select a new heifer or bull
to add to our own breeding herd. This will be noted in the website
information about that animal or on our price list. We reserve the
right to withdraw any animal advertised for sale at any time, for
any reason, without advance notice, as long as no formal written
offer is pending within 30 days. Prices are subject to change with
the Longhorn's size, age, or pregnancy status. Once we have a written
offer to purchase by you and a deposit has been made, then you are
guaranteed that price for 30 days or as otherwise agreed upon at
the time of our formal agreement. Prices may change at any time
and without notice, due to market fluctuations, herd size, calving
date, and re-breeding schedules.
- If You Change Your Mind ►
Should you change your mind about completing a purchase within the
first 30 days of our written agreement, we will refund your deposit,
less $100 retained by us for administrative charges.
- Pregnancy Checks ►
Should you purchase a bred female from us, we will provide you with
the date of breeding (or dates of exposure). Should you desire a
pregnancy test (by either palpation or blood test), the Veterinary
charges for testing will be passed on to you. No other warranties
for live offspring are either expressed or implied.
- Bull ► Should
you purchase a male from us (unless otherwise noted on the sales
contract), the animal is sold "as is" without warranty as to ability
to sire: however, we semen test all males prior to final sale and
delivery of the male to you. No males are sold for breeding purposes
without a valid semen test and viability.
- Possession ► After
acceptance of an offer to purchase and payment transactions are
completed, the Buyer will assume full responsibility for the animal.
A down payment in a layaway situation on an animal constitutes a
decision to purchase and is not refundable. The sole risk and responsibility
for the animal belongs to the new owner at time of signed contract
or money exchange, whatever comes first. This includes medical work
above and beyond normal vaccinations. Possession cannot be obtained
until full payment for the animal has cleared. Should the Buyer
want to delay the pick-up of the animal after full payment has been
made, boarding fees may incur as outlined below. Animals left with
us for rebreeding will normally not incur boarding fees, if the
subsequent rebreeding is included in the transaction. Buyer should
obtain his/her own insurance, policy effective date of your final
payment and legal possession.
- Delivery ►F BAR
Longhorns "may" be able to deliver your new Longhorn within 100
miles of Oakalla, TX. Transport charges will be $2.00 per loaded
mile ($75. minimum charge), one way (charge subject to change with
fuel costs).
- Payment Methods ►Full
payment is required at the time of purchase, except for special
or seasonal "lay-away" arrangements. We will accept deposits of
50% of the purchase price to hold an unweaned calf in your name
until it is old enough to leave the ranch. Payment will be accepted
via cash or cashier's check. Personal checks are only accepted from
established customers. For long distance orders or large purchases,
wire transfers can be arranged. Checks should be made payable to:
Lee Falkenhagen
- Lay-A-Way Program ►
Should you wish to purchase a Longhorn on this program, you may
do so with a 25% deposit (but not less than $250.) at time of Contract,
with the full balance being due not later than 90 days from date
of contract. As such, minimum monthly payments shall be at least
$250. with any balance due payable prior to taking possession of
the animal. Any necessary Vet charges will be billed to you and
payable monthly. Should you decide to terminate your Lay-A-Way program
on or before the end of the three months period, $125 of any monies
you have paid us to that date shall be retained by us for administrative
charges.
- Boarding ► Boarding
fees for adult animals will be $5.00 per day for summer months (April
- August) and $10.00 per day for fall/winter months (September -
March). Calves, at side of a dam visiting for breeding, will be
charged at $1.00 per day. Young F BAR calves purchased before they
are weaned will not be subject to a boarding fee until weaning has
occurred and after a three-week adjustment period for the calf.
We strongly suggest a two-three week period before taking possession
of a newly-weaned, young calf. Boarding fees are subject to change
without notice based on fluctuations of feed and fuel costs.
- Registration ►
A TLBAA Registration Certificate and transfer of ownership will
be furnished to the buyer free of charge upon the qualified sale
of an animal. Transfers will not be completed until all payment
has cleared.
- New Calves ► If
a cow has a pre-weaned calf at time of sale, F BAR Longhorns reserves
the right to not sell the calf at side and maintain possession of
cow until weaning. At the time of birth, all calves are priced as
separate animals and prices reflect separate sale transactions.
- Health & Branding ►
All heifer calves born and raised at F BAR Longhorns will have received
their Official Calf hood Vaccination (OCV) for brucellosis. All
calves are also vaccinated for blackleg, upper respiratory and other
viral infections, lepto/vibrio, and will have received scheduled
worming medications. All calves born and raised at F BAR Longhorns
will be branded with our holding brand before leaving the ranch.
- New Breeders ►
Longhorns like other cattle are herd animals. If you are new to
the Longhorn industry, we ask you to either purchase two cattle
or show that you are purchasing at least one other cow/heifer from
another ranch.
